Herb Patrols
for the healing branch
by Shaman Alx
Gathering Herbs
1. Roll a six sided dice using random.org and the number you roll will determine whether your patrol is successful or not. To determine the chance of your patrol’s success rate you must look at the corresponding season under successful events. If your roll is in the range given then your patrol is effective, if not your patrol is a failure.
2. Depending on which outcome you have rolled to, roll again and that number is the scenario that will take place.
3. If your event is successful go to the list of herbs at the bottom of the page to see which herb is acceptable. Choose the one your character is looking for. Some events may include extra “bonus” findings, if you encounter one of these scenarios pick randomize for another herb from the season the roleplay is in.
4. The numbers in parentheses indicate the quantity of herbs you will find. Add that number to the herb stock of the specific herb(s) by commenting on the bottom of the herb supply thread, it will be updated weekly and comments will be cleaned out monthly to keep things in order.
Repeat for each member of the patrol in the Healing Branch.
Medic Trainees must be in the presence of their mentor in order to go on a herb patrol, and only the Shaman is permitted to leave the territory in search of herbs but must be accompanied by two warriors.
Successful Events
Spring/Summer
Shaman: 1-4
Healers: 1-3
Healer Trainees: 1-2
Fall/Winter
Shaman: 1-3

Healer Trainees: 1
-roll again for the outcome-
1
You find the herb you were looking for (×3) just at the edge of territory, and fortunately stumble upon a small patch of another herb (×2), Lucky you.
2
Looks like you’ve found a vast amount of you herb (×6), unfortunately you don’t find any other herbs.
3
On your patrol you encounter a good-sized patch of the herb you were looking for (×6), but unfortunately you drop some (-2) on your way back to came.
4
Just on the edge of the territory a small patch of the herb you were searching for is nearby (×5) a herd of bison, are you willing to get it?
5
On your way out of the camp you pick up the strong scent of the herb you were looking for and eagerly follow it. (×8)
6
A weaker scent is picked up and you find your herb sprouting, but manage to pick away the fully grown plants leaving the rest to grow. (×2)
Failed Events
Spring/Summer
Shaman: 5-6
Healers: 4-6
Healer Trainees: 3-6
Fall/Winter
Shaman: 4-6
Healers: 3-6
Healer Trainees: 2-6
-roll again for the outcome-
1
Once you reach the edge of the territory you are forced to go back due to no findings of herbs along the way, better luck next time.
2
The herb you were looking for is found a dry patch and seems to be dried up, unfortunately you won’t be adding any herbs to the stock.
3
While trying to pick up a scent trail you realize you’ve left the territory without even noticing, and frantically run back. Hopefully no one noticed...
4
You pick up an unusual scent trail and decide to follow your curiosity instead of continuing your patrol - stay focused, you might have trouble finding your way back!
5
You successfully come across a patch of the herb you were looking for, though all of the plant is sprouting so you are forced to leave it be for it to fully grow.
6
How unlucky, you can’t pick up the aroma of a single herb, you reluctantly return to camp empty-pawed.
