Even though the Rebels strive for peace, sometimes battles break out. Here is the system we use to make everything fair. (Thank you, Folk Lore!)
This system does not apply to Spirits.
Only applies if both opponents are a member of the same size group.
For other battles, the larger party gains +10 points (all types) times the difference of the size group numbers.
Size Group 1
Gray Wolf*
Size Group 2
African Wild Dog
Maned Wolf
Size Group 3*
Coyote
Golden Jackal
Ethiopian Wolf
Side-Striped Jackal
Size Group 4
Black-Backed Jackal
Culpeo
Pampas Fox
Red Fox
Dhole
Arctic Fox
Hoary Fox
Sechuran Fox
African Golden Wolf
Size Group 5
Swift Fox
Gray Fox
Raccoon Dog
Bat-Eared Fox
Ruppell's Fox
Tibetan Sand Fox
Bush Dog
Chilla
Darwin's Fox
Maikong
Short-Eared Dog
Size Group 6
Pale Fox
Island Fox
Kit Fox
Bengal Fox
Cape Fox
Corsac
Size Group 7
Fennec Fox
Blanford's Fox
*most dogs belong in Size Group 3. Speak with Almandine about it if you need to.
Each character has a set number of HP.
Each character has a set number of Attack and Defence points.
High Fangs and Fangs
225 HP
20-100 Attack
30-100 Defense
Claws
180 HP
20-90 Attack
20-90 Defense
Paws, Snouts, and Wanderers
125 HP
5-80 Attack
5-80 Defense
A staff member must be present during any battles. They will have four tabs of random.org open, two tabs for each opponent (attack roll and defense roll) They will use the random number generator.
Example: Opponent A's attack roll is 20-90.
Let's say they get the number 30.
The staff member then goes to Opponent B's defense tab, and enter's their defense amount.
Let's say they get the number 20.
The staff member will subtract 20 from 30, so 10 points will be deducted from Opponent B's HP.
Example post:
<Opponent A> They snarled at Opponent B ferociously, and with a mighty leap towards them, attempted to pounce onto their back. If they were successful, Opponent B would crumple to the ground.
[Opponent B's defense roll failed (they got a 20 while Opponent A's attack roll was 30), so they will take the attack]
<Opponent B> Opponent B lost their balance and the air whooshed out of their lungs as they were pounced upon. With a loud grunt, they fell to the ground with Opponent A on their back.
Now, usually what happens in each post in a fight is the character defending themselves from an attack, then attempting their own attack.
First, determine how many posts each person involved in the battle will make.
2 posts are considered a round.
Before the battle even starts, the staff that is moderating it/rolling attacks & defenses for the members will roll attack and defense points for each opponent, starting with the one who hits first, for each round.
That way, at the start of each round, the staff will share each opponent's attack & defense rolls, and then the opponents will each post once.
The staff will keep track of each member's HP, and depending on if the battle is to the death (0 HP) or only to a little close to 0 HP (around 40 or so on), they will stop the battle when one of the members has lost, then reveal each opponent's HP.
OR, the staff can share each opponent's HP after each round.
Example:
Round 1
Canine 1 is a Fang, Canine 2 is a Wanderer.
<Staff> Canine 1 rolled an attack of 70
Canine 2 rolled a defense of 40
Canine 2 took 30 damage
Canine 2 rolled an attack of 50
(Canine 1's post)
(Canine 2's post)
Round 2
<Staff> Canine 1 rolled a defense of 55
Canine 1 dodged Canine 2's attack.
Canine 1 rolled an attack of 45
Canine 2 rolled a defense of 39
Canine 2 took 6 damage
Canine 2 rolled an attack of 80
(Canine 1's post)
(Canine 2's post)
And so on until the battle is done.
FOR FORUM BATTLES:
A staff member can be tagged in the battle RP's thread, and they will roll for the entire battle and post the attack and defense rolls for each opponent for up to the next 2 rounds. The staff member may also include HP stats at the end of each round until one member has 0 HP or close to 0 HP, that way the members would know who wins, or the staff could keep the knowledge of who's the winner to themselves until the fight ends.
